Robert James Atkinson Jr. was born in Portland, Oregon, on October 10th, 1944, to Robert Sr and Dorothy Atkinson. He graduated from Wells High School (formerly named Wilson High School) in Portland, OR in 1963 and married Karen Springer on December 28, 1968. In 1966, he was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He worked as a marine machinist for various Portland-based shipyard companies and ended his career in 2002 when he retired. He was a devoted family man and loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a man of simple pleasures, but he aimed to please everyone and was always willing to help others with any job, big or small.

Plant a tree in his name.

A serene resting place featuring smooth pebbles, a decorative gnome, a decorative urn, and a stone marker with the name 'BOB ATKINSON.' Surrounding flowers add a touch of color to the memorial.
